Proverbs 14:9-10

9Fools mock at sin,
But among the upright there is favor.
10The heart knows its own bitterness,
And a stranger does not share its joy.

When a fool is convicted and found guilty of sin, they mock it. I find it rather entertaining to watch police badge-cam footage from time to time, and find it very interesting to see the different ways people react to getting caught. Even more interesting is seeing how similarly many of them act. There is a common thread of fools mocking their sin, their own guilt. The righteous receive correction. The wise will heed conviction and will change.
