Proverbs 15:5

5A fool despises his father’s instruction,
But he who receives correction is prudent.
-Proverbs 15:5

Correction is really hard, especially when you are on the receiving end of it. No matter the difficulty of it, when we heed correction, the worst that can happen is that we improve. Everyone wants to grow, but no one wants that growth to come from correction. We like to arrive at conclusions on our own. It is easier to humble ourselves when it is not with another person. We grow in wisdom and understanding when we heed correction. We become prudent. We grow in diligence. We grow in humility. Do not despise instruction. Heed it dearly.
