Proverbs 4:14-17

14Do not enter the path of the wicked,
And do not walk in the way of evil.
15Avoid it, do not travel on it;
Turn away from it and pass on.
16For they do not sleep unless they have done evil;
And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall.
17For they eat the bread of wickedness,
And drink the wine of violence.
-Proverbs 4:14-17

The word of God lays a path before us that it encourages us to walk. There is yet another path that we can so choose: the path of the wicked. The wicked way is one that is enticing. It looks good and even in its own way, it looks secure. The end of it is death. Avoid it entirely. Do not try to dip your toe into it or tread the edges of it. Flee from its wake. Those who walk its path walk as though wickedness is a necessity. It is those who cannot sleep unless they sin. They eat and feast on wicked living. Contrary to the bread and wine that testifies of the sacrifice of Christ, these twist and pervert that which the Lord called good and made it to be wicked. Flee from this path and pursue after righteousness.
