Proverbs 13:2-3

2A man shall eat well by the fruit of his mouth,
But the soul of the unfaithful feeds on violence.
3He who guards his mouth preserves his life,
But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.
-Proverbs 13:2-3

I pray that we all learn to value words properly. We may view words as just being words, but we must ask ourselves if Scripture considers words the same way. If what our mouths produce is the result of what is in our heart, then it becomes clear what our words are really testifying of. We need to be those who control our tongues. Let us not just learn to control what we say, but also when we speak. There is a lot of need for discretion in our speech. So draw near to the Lord that He may give you the wisdom to rule over your own tongue.
