Proverbs 11:30
30The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,
And he who wins souls is wise.
-Proverbs 11:30
I am amazed by some of the typology of Christ. The bearer of righteousness who gives us righteousness is our tree of life. In a very practical sense, we are created for righteousness sake. This is what our lives are made for. Therefore, walking in righteousness means walking in the very purpose of life. It is, in its own sense, life giving. Paul highlights in Romans 8,
11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
-Romans 8:11
We bear the Spirit of God and now may have life in our mortal bodies. That means us here and now. Having received Christ Jesus, we are now ambassadors for his sake and may carry the message of reconciliation.
18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
-2 Cor. 5:18-19
We bear the message of reconciliation. We bear the fruit of righteousness and have life. There is nothing that holds us back. Let us be those who go and win souls.
And he who wins souls is wise.
