Proverbs 12:27

27The lazy man does not roast what he took in hunting,
But diligence is man’s precious possession.
-Proverbs 12:27

Character matters more than profit. Consider what Jesus says in Mark 8:36,

" 36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?"
-Mark 8:36

The lazy man may go and collect, but his laziness gets the better of him and keeps him from benefitting from what his gain was. His own slothfulness becomes a thorn in his own side. Yet, the man of diligence is rewarded greatly, for his character is that of diligence. Be cautious that you do not find yourself in a pattern of laziness. Grow in diligence in all you do. It is a great character trait to have and will benefit you through all your life.
