Proverbs 27:23
23Be diligent to know the state of your flocks,
And attend to your herds;

For those things that are under your responsibility, it is vital that you are diligent to attend to them. Whether you are discipling individuals, managing a business, caring for children, or whatever it may be, neglect causes hurt. Now I don't mean some kind of emotional hurt. If your responsibility is to be discipling and mentoring an individual, but you never check in or come alongside them, what will become of them? They are left to their own devices in figuring out life. If your responsibility is to manage a business, what becomes of the business if orders aren't made, people aren't paid, and nothing is getting done? We hardly need to discuss the dangers of neglecting our children. We can watch them grow distant from the Lord and draw near to things of the world. Let us be attentive to the which the Lord has entrusted to us. Be wise in your conduct and diligent in your care.
