Proverbs 12:16

16A fool’s wrath is known at once,
But a prudent man covers shame.
-Proverbs 12:16

The fool cannot contain their emotions. They are led by them. I think of how so many road rage or treat customer service representatives when things don't go their way. I think of the outbursts of wrath we see throughout the media and all around us. They are all wicked. Prudence will seek to cover shame. As opposed to lashing out in anger, we must take our actions into consideration. Instead of shouting and condemning an individual who did you wrong, swallow your pride and answer gently. Cover shame instead of expose it. Recall the sons of Noah. One walked in and noticed his father's nakedness then went out to tell his brothers. The brothers, rather than joining in, walk in backwards and cover their father's nakedness, hiding his shame. The one who exposed shame was cursed and those who covered the shame were blessed. Respond in such matters. Do not be dominated by your own emotions.
