Proverbs 10:6-7
6Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
7The memory of the righteous is blessed,
But the name of the wicked will rot.
-Proverbs 10:6-7
It is wise to consider what you are sowing to understand what you will reap. We know that the wages of sin is death. Have you also considered that the path of wickedness makes your life worthless? This is unpopular language to use, but it is biblical. The wicked will rot away. What value has that which rots away? If something is rotting in my pantry, I throw it out. It has no purpose for me. So the same is the name of the wicked in the eyes of the Lord.
How precious is it then that the Lord has called us out of worthlessness into worth by His Son? We may walk in righteousness because of the work He has accomplished. Blessings are poured out on us and the memory left behind is blessed. It continues, as we will continue. As opposed to that which rots away, those who walk in righteousness will thrive eternally. So choose this day how you will walk. Will you follow that path which rots? Or will you pursue after Christ with a whole heart, dwelling in righteousness all the days of your life?
