Proverbs 11:1
Dishonest scales are an abomination to the Lord,
But a just weight is His delight.
-Proverbs 11:1
You will see this language of dishonest scales throughout Scripture. To explain in short, it is cheating the buyer. You get less than what you pay for. In our service to one another, we ought to be honest. When it comes to our work ethics, or if we are running a business, let us be careful not to cheat one another. To do so is an abomination in the sight of God. However, to be righteous in our conduct is delightful to him.
This is the thread that we see. Wicked walking is detestable in the Lord's sight. We should not seek to excuse sin or find ways to permit it. Instead we should strive to walk by what is delightful in the Lord's sight. It brings me a certain degree of excitement to think that I can do something that is delightful in the Lord's sight. Such are we instructed to not grow weary in doing good. Seek to do what is delightful in the sight of God.
