Proverbs 15:18

18A wrathful man stirs up strife,
But he who is slow to anger allays contention.
-Proverbs 15:18

Outbursts of wrath is becoming the new American past time. Our great melting pot is turning into a pot stirred with strife. Our movies and media encourage and exalt wrath and being swift to anger. We are not called to such a lifestyle. We have been given the Spirit of self-control. As such, we should not be swift to anger. Rather, we should be slow to speak and slow to become angry. By the Spirit of God, we have the ability to silence the flesh. You emotions may be all riled up, but the choice is yours as to whether or not you give in to those feelings. Having such control can alleviate all kinds of contentions. May we learn to sift through our emotions carefully and not be dominated by the flesh. Seek the Lord and pray that He grow you in self-control.
