Proverbs 20:5

5Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water,
But a man of understanding will draw it out.
-Proverbs 20:5

One of the things that is rarer today is introspection. As much as we tend to examine ourselves, we tend to examine ourselves outwardly and not so much inwardly. We often do not understand the motives or the whys behind what we do. Instead, we respond by instinct. Having the Spirit of God within us, we are told to examine ourselves. The Word of God also divides the thoughts and intents of the heart. Having both of these, we are well set up to examine ourselves sincerely before the Lord. We can be that man of understanding that draws out what our heart intends. It is an unfortunate truth that we have the ability to deceive ourselves. Being introspective in this sense is healthy to be certain that we are right in the sight of the Lord. Take this and prayerfully practice it today. Course correct what you may need to. Repent. Rejoice. Walk in the way of the Lord.
