Proverbs 22:11
11He who loves purity of heart
And has grace on his lips,
The king will be his friend.
-Proverbs 22:11
It is unfortunate how many believers I have talked to that are entirely convinced that they do not have a pure heart. This is the work that the Lord accomplished in us! Your flesh may not be following suit, but that does not mean that your heart is not pure. I remember a conversation I had with an individual in the Lord expressing how they thought they were such a bad person. I started drawing attention to their mindset before they were born again, "Did you care about this, that, and the other before you were saved?" He replied that he did not. He was fine with it and pursued after it. So I showed him that since he was born again, he no longer had the desire for those things. His heart was made pure.
We who are in Christ Jesus have a pure heart. Let us also learn to love purity. Let us have grace upon our lips and let our actions follow in graciousness. With this being the case, our Lord, the King Most High, will be a friend to us. Let us rejoice in the sufficiency of the work of Christ!
And has grace on his lips,
The king will be his friend.
