Psalm 101:3-4

3I will set nothing wicked before my eyes;
I hate the work of those who fall away;
It shall not cling to me.
4A perverse heart shall depart from me;
I will not know wickedness.
-Psalm 101:3-4

In yesterday's devotion we discussed the importance of keeping our eyes set on the Lord. In so doing, David records the way that he will walk. Here is the alternative: wickedness. You have the option to set your eyes upon the Lord or the things of this world. We must have this kind of attitude toward wickedness. David says he will set nothing wicked before his eyes. In fact, their works are so vile to him that he claims to hate it. This is consistent with how we should view wickedness. Jude tells us to hate even the garment defiled by the flesh.

Do not be intimate with wickedness. Flee from it. Let wickedness depart from you, and perversion with it. Be holy as God is holy. With His Spirit in you, you can walk this out. Walk faithfully unto the Lord and rejoice in Him. Delight in His presence. Cling to goodness.
