Proverbs 29:14
14The king who judges the poor with truth,
His throne will be established forever.

Truth is the tool with which we should navigate our lives. As we have discussed in the past several devotions, truth is how we fight against lies. Truth tells us that Jesus has laid His life down for all mankind and desires that all should be saved. Truth tells us that each individual is valued by the Lord and we ought not give partiality. How easy would it be for a king to brush off a poor man? Consider then the character of that king who would give just as much opportunity to the poor as to the rich. Consider the character of the king who rules with the same measure between the rich and the poor. This is the type of King that we serve in Christ Jesus. Indeed, His throne is established forever. Amen.
