Proverbs 29:27

27      An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous,
And he who is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.
-Proverbs 29:27

When we conceptualize the idea of not being unequally yoked, this is what we are talking about. Regardless as to whether it is a friendship, romantic relationship, business partners, or something of the like, the righteous man hastens toward righteousness and the wicked man hastens toward wickedness. If they are running in two opposing directions, how can they have unity? They cannot. It is also important to recognize that your accolades and progress in righteousness will not be recognized or celebrated in the eyes of the wicked. Your lifestyle will be seen as burdensome and limiting. The wicked want just as much part in righteousness as the righteous want in wickedness. Let us run with those that we are equally yoked with. Get together with the brethren and lock arms with those in the faith. It will do us wonders if we are running alongside one another.
