20Do you see a man hasty in his words?
There is more hope for a fool than for him.

Think before you speak. I cannot begin to describe the amount of arguments, misunderstandings, and fights that would be resolved simply if people really thought about what they were saying before they said it. As a man of many words myself, this is a verse I have meditated on many times over. I was very quick to speak and often spoke out of emotion rather than truth. I had to learn the discipline of taking into consideration what the other person was saying or weigh the whole situation. The man who is too quick to speak is worse off than a fool. Remember that our words are like a rudder for our souls. The one who speaks in haste often acts in haste as well. There is no meditation to his actions just as there is none to his words. Let us act wise then and truly consider what we say and do before we say or do it.
