Proverbs 30:15b-16

There are three things that are never satisfied,
    Four never say, “Enough!”:
    16      The grave,
    The barren womb,
The earth that is not satisfied with water—
And the fire never says, “Enough!”
-Proverbs 30:15b-16

As we have already seen the insatiable nature of craving, we see those things in the world that continue to crave incessantly. The grave claims all in its path. It is never satisfied with the amount of those that it has claimed. It is a certainty for all to go through. The barren womb is never content with its absence but ever longs to be filled. The earth continues to drink the water that falls upon it and still dries up. And fire continuously consumes what is within it. So we see the drastic comparison that we have to craving. The desires of man can be as such. They are insatiable. All the more reason we ought to be filled with the living water from the Lord. Your satisfaction must come from Him.
