Proverbs 30:29-31

    29      There are three things which are majestic in pace,
    Yes, four which are stately in walk:
    30      A lion, which is mighty among beasts
    And does not turn away from any;
    31      A greyhound,
    A male goat also,
    And a king whose troops are with him.
-Proverbs 30:29-31

These all have to do with those confident in their walk. A lion is not walking fearful from other beasts. A greyhound, or strutting rooster as other translations say, stands tall in their confidence and moves about with it. So the same with the male goat. While they walk about they even offer challenge to the other male goats around, they uphold confidence. And a king in the midst of his people, in the midst of his troops, cannot help but be all the more confident.

In application, consider what or whom gives you confidence? Are you confident in the Lord? Is it among circumstances? What hinders your confidence and why? As believers, we ought to be confident and satisfied in the Lord. It is a worthwhile question to consider why we do or do not gain confidence from Him.
