6Do not add to His words,
Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.

When it comes to handling the Word of God, we need to be a responsible people. A lot of issues arise when we try to say more or less than what the Word is saying. In adding to Scripture, doctrines have been made that have caused so many divisions. Studying Scripture became unnecessarily difficult. Instead of getting what the Scriptures say, we are left to sift through man's opinions. While there indeed is variation in how to interpret Scripture, I have found less contention on interpretation and more on opinions. So let us consider the Word with care and reverence. Do not add to it. Do not take away from it. Let us hold to His truth.
