Proverbs 30:21-23

21      For three things the earth is perturbed,
Yes, for four it cannot bear up:
22      For a servant when he reigns,
A fool when he is filled with food,
23      A hateful woman when she is married,
And a maidservant who succeeds her mistress.
-Proverbs 30:21-23

Many of these things we see complaint rising up over in Scripture. For these are things that should not be in the course of the world and it disrupts when it is the case. This is not to say that there is no room for fortune to be reversed or for the lowly to be raised up. Jesus taught a lot on that. But we do see where those who bring misfortune still find success. A servant rising up in pride and reigning should not be. A foolish man who ever grieves the Lord should not see such success in his life. A woman who is hateful and contentious hardly seems a good candidate for marriage. A maidservant plotting against her mistress to rise above her ought not enjoy the success of what she sets out for. These are things that seem to go against the law of sowing and reaping. As such, the earth is perturbed.
