Psalm 101:6-8

6My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land,
That they may dwell with me;
He who walks in a perfect way,
He shall serve me.
7He who works deceit shall not dwell within my house;
He who tells lies shall not continue in my presence.
8Early I will destroy all the wicked of the land,
That I may cut off all the evildoers from the city of the Lord.
-Psalm 101:6-8

Faith and faithfulness cannot be divided. If you have faith in the Lord, you will be faithful to Him. If you believe He is, you will diligently seek Him. Those who are faithful are rewarded and can dwell with the Lord. The lesson that we get from this passage is something that is truly profound. The reward for faithfulness is dwelling with Him, and the punishment for unfaithfulness is the absence of Him. This is important for us to remember as believers. If we think that the goal is simply heaven, we are likely to stop short of what the Lord has for us. When we recognize that God is the reward and heaven is heaven because it is His dwelling place, our pursuit shifts from trying to make it into heaven to having a relationship with the Father. Dwell with Him now as you can. Seek Him out and enjoy His presence.
