Psalm 115:9-11
9O Israel, trust in the Lord;
He is their help and their shield.
10O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord;
He is their help and their shield.
11You who fear the Lord, trust in the Lord;
He is their help and their shield.

While idols remain to be useless, as do those who are committed to them, the Lord is not. How can an idol that cannot speak, move, hear, or do any sort be of help in times of trouble? It cannot! However, the Lord is our help and shield. We can lean on Him in times of trouble. We can cry out and He will answer. In fact, not only do we have the ability to go to the Lord, but the Lord Himself came to us. He met with man and extended the invitation to us that we may walk with Him. Trust in the Lord. He is your help and shield. Praise the Lord!
