Psalm 116:3-4

3The pains of death surrounded me,
And the pangs of Sheol laid hold of me;
I found trouble and sorrow.
4Then I called upon the name of the Lord:
“O Lord, I implore You, deliver my soul!”
-Psalm 116:3-4

Oh how such a simple prayer can be so effective! The psalmist, when in such sorrow, cries out, "Deliver me!" Peter when he falls into the waves after walking out on water reaches out and begs of Jesus, "Save me!" In such turmoil when we haven't even the words to say, the Spirit cries out in us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Do not let the gymnastics of modern Christianity make you believe you need to bring a long drawn out prayer to God for Him to hear you. Sometimes, it just looks like weeping in HIs presence, before His throne. The Spirit of God is ready to comfort. The Lord is ready to help in times of trouble. Cry out to Him. Weep, mourn and wail. May your cries turn to praise as the Lord restores you. Praise the Lord.
