Psalm 118:1-4

1Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
2Let Israel now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
3Let the house of Aaron now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
4Let those who fear the Lord now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”

In a world so dark, twisted, and wicked, not only does this Psalm serve as a comfort but also a humble reminder of the extent of the mercy of the Lord. Notice the direction given preceding each of the chorus lines to this Psalm. Direction is given to Israel, then the house of Aaron, and then those who fear the Lord. In reflection of His goodness, this is the heart cry of our lives unto the Lord. This praise is designed to be sung by all peoples! With every breath, at your waking moment, or as you lie down to sleep, "His mercy endures forever." This remembrance should usher us into living a life of praise to the Lord. Take some time this morning and praise the Lord for His mercy! Rejoice in it and consider how the Lord has been continually merciful to you.
