Psalm 119 - Pe

129Your testimonies are wonderful;
Therefore my soul keeps them.
130The entrance of Your words gives light;
It gives understanding to the simple.
131I opened my mouth and panted,
For I longed for Your commandments.
132Look upon me and be merciful to me,
As Your custom is toward those who love Your name.
133Direct my steps by Your word,
And let no iniquity have dominion over me.
134Redeem me from the oppression of man,
That I may keep Your precepts.
135Make Your face shine upon Your servant,
And teach me Your statutes.
136Rivers of water run down from my eyes,
Because men do not keep Your law.
-Psalm 119:129-136

Contrary to popular belief, wonderful does not just mean good. It means full of wonder. What the psalmist is then saying is not just that the testimonies of the Lord are good, but that they are full of wonder. In fact, they cause us to be in wonder at them. The question I then propose - do you wonder at the testimonies of God? Are you invigorated with awe upon the study of His word? Certainly we should find ourselves there. We do not get there by begrudgingly approaching the throne of Grace every morning though. We get there by a joyful obedience to the Lord and delight in His word. May your steps be directed by the Lord in all things that you too may be filled with wonder at His testimonies.
