Psalm 139:1-6

1O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
2You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.
3You comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.
4For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.
5You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
6Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it.
-Psalm 139:1-6

Have you ever taken a moment just to think of what eternity is? Or how about what infinity is? What is the number right before infinity? What is the moment right before eternity? Trying to think about these things drive most people into confusion as it is evidently unknowable outside of the fact that we know it exists. To never have a start and never have an end is beyond our comprehension. Though that is how God dwells. He exists eternally, from everlasting to everlasting. Only He has the ability to comprehend every thought at once. Only He can see every man, woman and child at once. Not only that, but He has also searched and known you. He knows you inside and out. There is no hiding from Him and there is no hiding things about you from Him.

I find there to be two responses that we should have. The first is awe, or amazement. We should be captivated by the reality of our God. Secondly, we should walk circumspectly. We know that God sees everything. His word divides the thoughts and intents of the heart. We would be foolish to think He does not know the depths of our character. So let us walk in wisdom and learn to think righteously. Be disciplined in your life unto the Lord and let that carry into every aspect of life. When you say amen, the Lord does not leave you. When you finish bible study, God doesn't stop speaking. Do not compartmentalize where the Lord is in your life. Let Him be in and through it all.
