Psalm 144:11-15

11Rescue me and deliver me from the hand of foreigners,
Whose mouth speaks lying words,
And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood—
12That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth;
That our daughters may be as pillars,
Sculptured in palace style;
13That our barns may be full,
Supplying all kinds of produce;
That our sheep may bring forth thousands
And ten thousands in our fields;
14That our oxen may be well laden;
That there be no breaking in or going out;
That there be no outcry in our streets.
15Happy are the people who are in such a state;
Happy are the people whose God is the Lord!
-Psalm 144:11-15

While the money preachers are wrong in most ares of theology, one area they are right. We are promised prosperity as believers. The difference is, prosperity here and now is not really prosperity. The prosperity we are promised is one that is eternal, not one that is temporary. In the rule and reign of the Messiah, we will thrive. When all is made right in the sight of the Lord, our barns will be full, we will be supplied. There will be security and safety. There will be utmost justice. In that we will be blessed. To the extent that we have now, we can rejoice. Yet still we look forward to a greater day when such prosperity is secured. Store up your treasures in heaven, not here on earth. Live for what is yet to come. Do not fall for the trap that our prosperity is meant for now.
