Psalm 145:1-3
1I will extol You, my God, O King; And I will bless Your name forever and ever.
2Every day I will bless You,
And I will praise Your name forever and ever.
3Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
And His greatness is unsearchable.
-Psalm 145:1-3
The final 5 Psalms are all focused upon praise. These are excellent for us to use to grow our vocabulary in praise.
This is a beautiful challenge for us. Every day I will bless You. This should be our attitude towards giving praise to the Lord. He is great and greatly to be praised! He is worth setting aside the time daily to give praise. Humble yourself and exalt the Lord. Praise and thankfulness of heart unto the Lord have become more and more of a rarity. We fail to understand what blessings really are. We fail to see the works of the Lord in our own lives. We have become quick to complain and slow to rejoice. Right perspective leads us to praise instead of grumble. If our perspective is poor, it could be that our time in the Word is poor. Get closely acquainted with the Word of God. See how greatly He is to be praised. Develop eyes to see the wonders of His works. Practice giving praise to the Lord.
