Psalm 145:14-16

14The Lord upholds all who fall,
And raises up all who are bowed down.
15The eyes of all look expectantly to You,
And You give them their food in due season.
16You open Your hand
And satisfy the desire of every living thing.
-Psalm 145:14-16

This is one of those passages that is confused with modern Western language. Those who fall is not referring to those who messed up. The second half of verse 14 furthers the thought of the first half. Many phrases in the psalms do this where the second half of a phrase adds to the first and gives clarity to it. The word for fall that is used here means to lie prostrate. It is the bowing down that this is talking about. Let us read this psalm from the perspective of those who are bowed before the Lord, submitting to Him.

All of these ones are upheld and raised up. It is these who look expectantly to the Lord and are fed in due season. These are the ones that are satisfied, for our desire is for the Lord. Submit yourself to the Lord whole heartedly.
