Proverbs 2:1-5
My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you,
2So that you incline your ear to wisdom,
And apply your heart to understanding;
3Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding,
4If you seek her as silver,
And search for her as for hidden treasures;
5Then you will understand the fear of the Lord,
And find the knowledge of God.
-Proverbs 2:1-5
This is a key passage for us to meditate on as believers. The Word of God spends a lot of time addressing the importance of the fear of the Lord. Just yesterday we discussed the lack of the fear of the Lord being a danger. With what we have today, we can learn the fear of the Lord and understand it. We can find the knowledge of God.
As believers, we must be diligent to pursue after the Lord. Treasure the Lord's commands within you and incline your ear to wisdom. Apply yourself to understand these matters. Cry out to the Lord to teach you these things and grow in discernment. Seek her as for silver and search as for hidden treasures. If you are this diligent in your pursuit of the Lord, you will understand the fear of the Lord and you will find the knowledge of God. I challenge you to commit this passage to memory. Recall it on a daily basis. Let this be the launchpad into your daily bible study that you would take it sincerely. Treasure His word deeply.
