Proverbs 3:3-4
3Let not mercy and truth forsake you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart,
4And so find favor and high esteem
In the sight of God and man.
-Proverbs 3:3-4
As we continue to practice not forgetting the word of God, this is an excellent picture for us to prioritize keeping it with us. The word forsake here means to leave. To keep the word of God from leaving us, we must maintain it. Bind yourself to it. Have it hidden in your heart. This means that you have it committed to memory and to lifestyle. It is not enough to just have it around you, it must be within you. As such, you find favor in the sight of God and man. Be sincere in your devotion to the Lord. Prayerfully seek within yourself if there is anything in your life that needs to be turned to the Lord that you may walk in an even more radical obedience to Him.
