Proverbs 3:13-18

13Happy is the man who finds wisdom,
And the man who gains understanding;
14For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver,
And her gain than fine gold.
15She is more precious than rubies,
And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.
16Length of days is in her right hand,
In her left hand riches and honor.
17Her ways are ways of pleasantness,
And all her paths are peace.
18She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her,
And happy are all who retain her.
-Proverbs 3:13-18

Wisdom is a word that is thrown around a lot in Christian circles and is used frequently throughout the Proverbs. I find an important question to ask is what is the value of wisdom? Frequently, we will exchange what is wise for what is fun, entertaining, or otherwise. If we are really hungry, wisdom may tell us to eat slow, but our flesh tells us to gorge. When we are frustrated, wisdom may tell us to step away and calm down, but the flesh tells us to get the last word in. So what is wisdom worth to you?

See the value in wisdom! The gain of it far outweighs that of monetary or fleshly gain. What can compare? Walking in wisdom can save you a lot of difficulty in life. You are blessed if you walk in her way.
