Proverbs 5:7-14

7Therefore hear me now, my children,
And do not depart from the words of my mouth.
8Remove your way far from her,
And do not go near the door of her house,
9Lest you give your honor to others,
And your years to the cruel one;
10Lest aliens be filled with your wealth,
And your labors go to the house of a foreigner;
11And you mourn at last,
When your flesh and your body are consumed,
12And say:
“How I have hated instruction,
And my heart despised correction!
13I have not obeyed the voice of my teachers,
Nor inclined my ear to those who instructed me!
14I was on the verge of total ruin,
In the midst of the assembly and congregation.”
-Proverbs 5:7-14

The way we flee from this is to cling to truth. This is one of the critical reasons we must remain diligent and consistent with being in the word and meditating on it day and night. Let it not depart from your eyes. While the Lord seeks to give you righteousness and peace, this enemy seeks to take everything you have. It will take your wealth and your years and thrash it. It does not value you nor care for you. Flee from it lest you find yourself saying that you are consumed and can only look back at how you have despised instruction and correction. Heed the voice of the Lord now. If you find yourself stuck in this today as you read this, it is not too late to repent and flee from it. Whatever it takes, break it off. Cancel your streaming subscriptions. Trade your smartphone for a flip phone. Listen to different music. Invest yourself into the things of the Lord. Resist the devil by submitting entirely to the Lord. Now is the time awake and run.
