Proverbs 10:2-3

2Treasures of wickedness profit nothing,
But righteousness delivers from death.
3The Lord will not allow the righteous soul to famish,
But He casts away the desire of the wicked.
-Proverbs 10:2-3

There is a major concern in Scripture with dishonest gain. What is attained by that but the treasures of wickedness? They profit nothing! Additionally, that which the wicked treasure within their hearts profit nothing. The treasures of righteousness are long lasting, however. Where wickedness will perish and the wicked along with it, the righteous soul will be made to thrive throughout all eternity. I suspect that this is near to what Jesus said when He told the people, "Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." If your treasure is set on the things of this world, you may gain here but to no profit for where it matters.

Setting your treasures on this world is like playing monopoly. It is a long game of toil and strife, and you may end up on top. Yet as soon as the game ends, you bear the consequences of how you played and all the profit you made means nothing. The currency of the game does not work for the currency of the real world. Likewise, the currency of the world does not work for the currency of the Kingdom of Heaven. Invest wisely, then, into the Kingdom. Walk in righteousness.
