Proverbs 10:4-5

4He who has a slack hand becomes poor,
But the hand of the diligent makes rich.
5He who gathers in summer is a wise son;
He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.
-Proverbs 10:4-5

There is a saying I have heard a number of times. Similarly to how the Proverbs works, this saying is true most of the time, but there are always exceptions to the rule. The saying is, "Poverty is a mindset." There is truth to this. The one who is slack with their finances will greatly struggle to build any form of wealth. The one who is diligent, however, is wise with what they have. Laziness will not profit. Diligence will allow you to thrive.

This may seem like a contrast to the devotion yesterday, however I think it fits quite well. The issue with wealth is not with having it. The problem is when it has you. When your life and obsession is to gain, there is a problem. Diligence is good and celebrated in Scripture. Be wise with what you have. Steward well what the Lord has entrusted to you and prayerfully consider what the Lord would have you do with what you have. When you entrust all you have to the Lord, it becomes very difficult to let it overtake you.
