Proverbs 10:23-25

23To do evil is like sport to a fool,
But a man of understanding has wisdom.
24The fear of the wicked will come upon him,
And the desire of the righteous will be granted.

25When the whirlwind passes by, the wicked is no more,
But the righteous has an everlasting foundation.
-Proverbs 10:23-25

The foolish seem to make it a contest as to how much wickedness they can fit into the day. There is celebration of it. There is focus put upon it. Above even that, there is a desire of the foolish to drag others down into it. It never ceases to amaze me at how evangelistic so many of these people are of walking in wickedness. Such matters the righteous have no cause to be apart of. We walk in understanding and grow in wisdom. The wicked will end, and all of his pleasures will die out with him. But righteousness prevails forevermore.

Seeing as the righteous has an everlasting foundation, what shall we build upon it? 1 Corinthians 3 tells us that each work will be tested by fire. Walk in righteousness and let the actions you conduct yourself with be the actions of the righteous. Just because you have a grand foundation does not mean what is built on it is just as grand or long lasting. We must be diligent in all that we do. Build upon that foundation with gold, silver, and precious stones.
