Proverbs 10:30-32
30The righteous will never be removed,
But the wicked will not inhabit the earth.
31The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom,
But the perverse tongue will be cut out.
32The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
But the mouth of the wicked what is perverse.
-Proverbs 10:30-32
How do your words reflect who you are? Are they God-glorifying? I have heard many ask how they can improve their words or grow in wisdom. The answer I give is that it is all in investment. We tend to invest our lives into worldly things, namely entertainment. The books we read, shows we watch, music we listen to, or games we play often are all exalting foolishness or foolish decisions. We see it being promoted and then wonder why we ourselves fail to walk differently. If what we instead invest our time and lives into the word of God and spending time with Him in worship and prayer, we will have a noticeable change in our lives and words.
I have never known anyone who was well-invested into the Lord that did not become wise and their words testifying likewise. The opposite is also unfortunately true. Everyone I know that continued to invest into the things of this world has been stunted by it. Lose what you cannot keep to gain what you cannot lose. Do not maintain temporary pleasures for eternal consequences. Invest into that day that requirements are made of your soul.
