Proverbs 14:3

3In the mouth of a fool is a rod of pride,
But the lips of the wise will preserve them.
-Proverbs 14:3

As someone who is rather extroverted and likes to talk, the things that I say have been called into question many times. While I would lean upon phrases like, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me," to excuse things I would say, I would eventually land upon an important realization. What we say matters to the Lord. Idle words are judged. Edifying words are rewarded. We need to be cautious with the things that we speak. Fools speak foolishly, and the wise speak in wisdom. Grow in wisdom and practice good speech yourself.
