Proverbs 14:11
11The house of the wicked will be overthrown,
But the tent of the upright will flourish.
-Proverbs 14:11
Anyone who has spent any time camping ever knows that there is quite a disparity between a house and a tent. What does it say about the individuals that dwell within if the house is overthrown but the tent, not only is not overthrown, but flourishes. I would say it testifies considerably. Let us then ask why the house is overthrown but the tent flourishes.
The wicked have made their abode in the things of the world. As we know, those things will all fade away and eventually be burned away. However, the righteous are strangers and foreigners on this earth. Our abode is in the Lord. Remember what Jesus shared with his disciples as He spoke of His own departure. He said he goes to prepare a mansion for us. From a tent, I would say a mansion is flourishing. The upright will make their abode with the Lord while the wicked live for that which is on the earth. Be wise in your conduct and choose whom you will serve.
