Proverbs 14:29

29He who is slow to wrath has great understanding,
But he who is impulsive exalts folly.
-Proverbs 14:29

One of the major trademarks of the believer is self-control. We should not be impulsive people. Impulsiveness causes sin to thrive, and folly to flourish. The one who keeps themselves from wrath and is slow to it is one who understands the value of patience and walks in the fear of the Lord. Consider how the Lord approaches wrath. In His wrath, He would be just to execute His judgment on us. Every offense that has been done has been done unto Him. However, despite the fact that the Lord would be right in it, He is slow to anger and extends mercy to us. May we gleam from His character the importance of being slow to wrath.
