Proverbs 14:30
30A sound heart is life to the body,
But envy is rottenness to the bones.
-Proverbs 14:30
Soundness of heart is akin to purity of heart. A heart that is pure does not desire the mixture. It does not seek to be alloyed with the things of this world. As such, the pure heart is sound of heart and is content in all circumstances. The alternative is envy. Envy tears and breaks down. It causes one to become chaotic and impulsive in their decisions. Rather than being established in belief, the envious individual follows a whim. The one who is sound in heart has life and is established. I pray that we may understand contentedness amidst a world that promotes discontentment in all things. Let us have a sound heart.
