Proverbs 14:35
35The king’s favor is toward a wise servant,
But his wrath is against him who causes shame.
-Proverbs 14:35
Understanding that the Lord is our King of Kings should add some weight to this verse. If we desire to please our King, we must walk circumspectly in all wisdom and discernment. If we walk in wisdom, we will honor the King who rules over us. How we conduct ourselves is a representation of His ruling in us. If we claim to be under Him and walks as fools, we bring shame to His name, and the consequences are just. Consider the judgment that befell Israel many times over because of how they represented the Lord. Serve the Lord in all wisdom and walk diligently in that. Do not bring the Lord shame. Bring Him cause to rejoice.
