Proverbs 15:16-17
16Better is a little with the fear of the Lord,
Than great treasure with trouble.
17Better is a dinner of herbs where love is,
Than a fatted calf with hatred.
-Proverbs 15:16-17
Are you willing to trade your soul that you would gain the world? Or are you willing to exchange the goods of this world that you may keep your soul? If we have little but have the Lord, we have all that we need. Having everything in this world and lacking the Lord is a drastic net loss. If we go through our entire lives having nothing but we have the Lord, we have a major net gain. The point is this. What we gain or lose in this world matters not compared to what we gain or lose with the Lord. Our priorities need to be in line with the Lord above all else.
