Proverbs 15:24
24The way of life winds upward for the wise,
That he may turn away from hell below.

There is a common misconception within Christianity that all our lives are focused on is avoiding wickedness. As such, many have turned all their strength to sin management. Rather than responding in love to the Lord and pursuit of righteousness, we just try to avoid sinning. The problem with this is that our attention is ever sat upon sin. The way we should be focused is upon pleasing the Lord. We were not just delivered from darkness. We were conveyed into the kingdom of the Son of God's love. Our intent must be on delighting ourselves in God. Should we do so, as a byproduct of our pursuit, we will avoid sin. So turn your eyes upon Jesus and the things of this world will grow strangely dim.
