Proverbs 16:6
6In mercy and truth
Atonement is provided for iniquity;
And by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil.

Jesus being the way, the truth and the life, as well as being the expression of God's mercy really highlights how this verse testifies of Christ. For it is in Christ that atonement is provided for iniquity. The blood of bulls and goats is not sufficient as a sacrifice for sin. The Lord alone could truly atone. Praise the Lord for His goodness which leads us to repentance! However, it is not His goodness alone that leads us to repentance. Just as the verse above states, it is also by the fear of the Lord that one departs from evil. These usually coincide with one another. The fear of the Lord leads us to seeing the goodness of God and dwelling in His mercy. In any case, let us depart from iniquity and hasten towards truth and righteousness.
