Proverbs 16:8
8Better is a little with righteousness,
Than vast revenues without justice.

I love when the proverbs helps me to reanalyze what actually has value. We may lack concerning this world's goods. However, if we have righteousness, it is better than having this world's goods and walking in wickedness. There are those that have made mountains of money by gaining it unjustly. Most people would still look at them and say that they have made it and were successful. The Lord weighs success very differently. The worth of a man is not found in the treasure he possesses, but the treasure that possesses him. If it is the goods of this world that has a man, he will be defined by greed and covetousness. If it is the Lord that has a man, then he will be found righteous. I pray that we may rightly define what holds value in the eyes of the Lord.
