Proverbs 16:9
9A man’s heart plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps.
-Proverbs 16:9
We are very accustomed to planning out our lives. In fact it is very encouraged. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years? These types of questions indicate a plan of some sort. Most of us have tomorrow mostly planned out and know what vacations we may have set up for the next year or two. We plan our ways. Despite how it is that we may plan, the Lord is the one who gives the direction. In a moment, all of our plans can be moved to the side as the Lord has something different for us. Let us then be disciplined in trusting in the ways of the Lord and letting Him guide us. This does not mean we do not plan and prepare, but we do so with a humble heart and leaning upon the Lord in all things.
