Proverbs 17:1
Better is a dry morsel with quietness,
Than a house full of feasting with strife.

Contentedness is a necessity for us as believers. While we will not be satisfied until we awake in the Lord's likeness, we can be content no matter the circumstances. The famous verse, Philippians 4:13, says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." This is in the context of being able to be content in all circumstances, knowing how to be abased or how to abound. It is better to have a little and be content than to have abundance and be discontent. We must prioritize our spiritual health over our physical gain. What sense is there in striving to get all you can attain only to find you remain discontent with the outcome? You spend your life in strife and still do not have enough. May we learn to be content in the Lord in all things, knowing how to abound and how to be abased.
