Proverbs 17:17
17A friend loves at all times,
And a brother is born for adversity.

Practical life advice is a trademark of the proverbs. Sometimes it is simple advice such as how to be a friend and the significance of the one who is a brother to you. What this ultimately does is draws a distinction. If a friend loves at all times and instead you have a "friend" that constantly drags you down, they are no friend. If you have one that sticks close like a brother but they flee as soon as the going gets tough, they are no brother. The friend will walk in love and the brother will stand beside amidst it all. Consider yourself in this as well. Do you love as a friend and stand firm with others as a brother? Let do so as the Lord would have us.
